Saudi Arabia-based low-cost carrier Flyadeal is evaluating the option of connecting to Global Distribution Systems (GDS) as part of its international growth strategy. Established seven years ago with a digital-only ticket sales model, the airline has since developed direct partnerships with online travel agencies.
Flyadeal’s Chief Commercial Officer, Rogier Van Enk, announced during the IATA Middle East and North Africa Aviation Day event in Jeddah that the airline is actively in talks to join GDS platforms. Van Enk highlighted that this move aims to enhance Flyadeal’s visibility, particularly on its expanding international routes. Flyadeal currently operates a fleet of 38 Airbus A320s and plans to grow this to over 100 by 2030, with its first A321neo delivery expected next year.
